The adventure to explore the best touristic destination in Peru will start in Cusco. Our guide will pick you up from your hotel at 4:30am and head towards Ollantaytambo town in the Sacred Valley. There we will board the train that is running to Aguas Calientes town. The train ride will take about 1,40 minutes through an incredible valley where you can see how the dry mountains turn green while you descend the elevation.

From Aguas Calientes town, you will embark on the bus trip to Machu Picchu citadel. After checking the main control, your tour guide will lead you to the best spot where you can have stunning views of this mystical Machu Picchu, enjoy the magical moments, learn the history of the Incas, and explore each Inca temple for about 3 hours, following circuits 1 or 2.

Once you have explored the entire citadel, the tour will end at the exit of Machu Picchu, where you can board the bus to Aguas Calientes and have a lunch. Around 4:30 or 5.20pm, you will take the train and ride back to Ollantaymbo, and following it, board the bus to Cusco. We will drop you off at your hotel.

Our Machu Picchu 1 day tour will start with pickup from your hotel in Cusco and heading to Ollantaytambo Station to board the train to Aguas Calientes. This is the nearest town to Machu Picchu. Enjoy a scenic train journey through dramatic Andean landscapes. The train has ample seats with large windows, allowing for grand views of the surrounding jungle and mountains.

Board a bus for a 25-minute ride to Machu Picchu. The city of Machu Pichu is believed to have been built in the 1450s by the Inca emperor Pachacuteq as an important religious temple. Within a century, the city would be abandoned following the Spanish conquest. The Spaniards never found it, so it was spared the destruction they brought to other Inca sites. Instead, it was slowly swallowed up by the jungle and hidden from harm.

Take a guided tour of the site, which explains the origins behind this awe-inspiring citadel and its most prominent landmarks such as the monumental Main Square, the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows, the Circular Towers, the Sacred Sun Dial, and the Burial Grounds. After the tour, you will be returned to Aguas Calientes, where you can take some free time to explore the city or enjoy an optional lunch.

After some time in the town, return to Aguas Calientes station to take the train back to the Ollantaytambo Station, from there you will be taken the bus back to your hotel.

Yes, we have a full-day tour from Cusco; it starts at 4:00 a.m. with the pick-up from your hotel and ends at 8 or 9 p.m. with the drop-off at your hotel. We have door-to-door service and include everything for your lifetime journey.

No, because you will get there by bus and train, you don't need to make big effort to get Machu Picchu. We will include everything you need for your day tour, from the pick up, transportation to all the fees you need to discover this iconic ancient site.

Our Machu Picchu day tour starts in Cusco. For this, you need to bring just a light backpack with your personal items: your original passport, water bottle, rain jacket, some snacks, sunblock, mosquito spray, extra cash, and all positive vibes.

Definitely, it will help you to secure your entrance ticket and avoid any troubles during your tour, especially during the high season, because there are a limited number of entrances and more people want to visit this marvelous place.

According to the new regulation made by the Peruvian government, you can stay 3 hours in Machu Picchu; if you have any tickets for Machu Picchu or Huayna Picchu Mountain, it can be 5 hours.

The best month to visit Machu Picchu is May, and the best time of the day is early in the morning between 6 and 8 a.m. or in the afternoon from 3 to 5 p.m. At this time, there are not many people.

Yes, according to the new regulation, you can stay in Machu Picchu for only 3 hours, and on a day tour, you will have enough time to explore this mystical Inca site. However, if you have extra mountains to climb around Machu Picchu, we recommend doing the two-day Machu Picchu Tour.

There are many regulations in order to protect Machu Picchu: only small backpacks of 25 liters are allowed; walking poles or selfie sticks are not allowed; jumping photos is forbidden; climbing the walls is forbidden; unbrella is not allowed; eating in Machu Picchu is forbidden; and flying drones need special permits.

Since 2022 the Peruvian government created different circuits to Visit Machu Picchu this with the purpose to control the tourist flow and have better chance to Explore Machu Picchu with not many people. Vidal Expeditions recommend to take the circuit one of circuit two which allow you to explore more about Machu Picchu, also the Inca bridge circuit is great option for these who want to walk more in this Seven World Wonder.

Of course, these are located at the main checkpoint, you should use before going in Machu Picchu, because once you are in Machu Picchu, there is not option to go outside without missing your tickets, the tour guides will recommend using the restrooms before passing the control. To use the toilet cost 2 soles.

The weather in Cusco and parts of the Andes is unpredictable, even if the weather forecast says it’s sunny. We can’t trust it. It is an impossible question for us to answer. Historically, April through September is the dry season; November through February is the rainy season; and March and October are bridge months—a mixture of both. But the clouds have not followed these rules in the last few years. Prepare for sun and rain, no matter when you come. As far as temperatures go, that is consistent throughout the year. Mornings and evenings are always cold. Make sure to bring a fleece jacket for the mornings and a down jacket for the evenings.
