CHRISTMAS WITH VIDAL EXPEDITIONS

Our SUPPORTING COMMUNITIES THROUGH TOURISM

Vidal Expeditions , focuses on supporting each community living on the routes of our diverse excursions. At Vidal Expeditions we designed initiatives that involve some local people and communities who can benefit from tourism. Our team also created CHRISTMAS IN THE ANDES a collaboration with A HAND FROM OUR FRIENDS which consists of training local teenagers to work in the tourism industry once they finish college. Every year around Christmas time, we provide donations where we bring some school supplies, medical supplies, clothes and different kits for homes so that we can contribute to helping them making a better life for themselves. These actions are possible thanks to our clients who also decided to help. .

MISSION

CHRISTMAS IN THE ANDES has the goal to support as many communities as we can and our first step is to help children and teenagers complete their school and college, and the best way is to support them with some student supplies. As you know, during our excursions it is complicated to find shops around where they live and they need money to go to the next town or city to get some school supplies. To make it easier for them we have decided to help them with some of these items. We are certain they will really appreciate it, especially once they complete their college education.

OUR OBJECTIVE

Vidal Expeditions has been organizing this activity since 2018, and this year, in 2022, we are back at it and want to bring happiness to our friends of Alccataury (Ausengate) & Pampacorral (Lares) and share with them an incredible day. The main objective is to get some donations. They can be student supplies (books, pencils, eraser, highlighters, pencil cases, notebooks, folders and other supplies), medical kits (adhesive tape, elastic wrap bandages, nonstick sterile bandages and roller gauze in assorted sizes, cotton ball and cotton swabs, disposable non-latex examination gloves, sanitizers, first-aid manual, and more). We also want to bring some dental care products (toothbrushes, toothpaste, dental floss, tongue scrapers and more). As you know, around the mountains the weather is very cold and we also need some extra clothes for children that will allow them to use different clothes every week. Bringing some toys to children is very important to get some smiles from the kids since some of them do not always get toys or presents during Christmas celebrations.
If you would like to be involved in our annual Christmas activity for rural communities around Cusco, please let us know. A little $ goes a long way. We will be giving some student supplies, dental care items, medical items, toys again, and clothes such as gumboots depending on how much we can gather together from our friends and family. As we have previously done, Vidal Expeditions will cover the costs of receiving payments and the cost of transportation to deliver the gifts..
